Mia Katrin will be presenting her award-winning Collections of exuberant necklaces and earrings at a the Hickory Museum of Art’s “Angels of the Arts” Brunch December 1, 2007, 10 am-1pm at Lake Hickory Country Club. Proceeds from the event, included in Jewel Couture LLC’s Holiday 2007 National Tour, will benefit the Hickory Museum of Art.

Mia Katrin will be presenting her award-winning Collections of exuberant necklaces and earrings at a the Hickory Museum of Art’s “Angels of the Arts” Brunch December 1, 2007, 10 am-1pm at Lake Hickory Country Club. Mia Katrin will be bringing in several spectacular pieces just for the Hickory show, including exquisite necklaces of rubies, diamonds, multi-colored sapphires and Tahitian pearls in gold and platinum. The Eternity Collection of 18-22 karat pink and yellow gold with diamonds, and the Golden Leaves Collection of hand-fabricated leaves in 18-24 karat gold with rubies are new this season.
She is currently designing a “Hearts of Gold” Necklace of exquisite Tahitian and South Sea pearls and diamonds as a featured piece for the AHA’s 50th anniversary white-tie Heart Ball in Charlotte, NC, February, 2008, which will be publicized nationally. In February 2007, Mia Katrin’s “Ruby Heart Necklace” was the featured piece at the American Heart Association’s Gala Event in Conover, NC, and live-auctioned for several thousand dollars by the Emmy award-winning Charlotte news anchor Paul Cameron. It was widely publicized in print, radio and television.
“Jewelry By Design,” Mia Katrin's monthly syndicated Byline column, reaches 100,000 readers monthly through such publications as Southern Jewelry News and Jewelry Crafts Magazine. Her interview with Armand Asher, President for years of the Cultured Pearl Association of America, who recently appeared on Martha Stewart’s television show, will be an upcoming featured column. Mia Katrin has a PhD in Aesthetics from the University of Chicago, and has studied metalsmithing locally at Penland School of Crafts, NC.
