Humanity First Continues to Serve Southern California Fire Disaster Victims and Evacuees
San Diego, CA, October 30, 2007 --(PR.com)-- As residents return to the San Diego and Los Angeles areas to see if their homes survived the deadly fires that have been raging this past week, Humanity First continues to assess disaster and relief needs on a daily basis.
In the past two days, Humanity First has carried through a number of projects in Orange and San Diego Counties. The First Responder Team partnered with the Orange County Rescue Mission to successfully purchase and deliver supplies and medicines valued at $2000. Additionally, $750 in supplies were delivered to American Medical Response and American Firefighter frontline. Delivered items included non-perishable foods, clothing, medical supplies, and hygiene products.
Humanity First assessment teams are also moving into San Bernardino County and East San Diego County over this weekend. Following assessment operations, a relief convoy will be deployed in Escondido. Medical services are being provided in these counties as need arises.
With fourteen fires fully contained and nine still burning, damages will be ongoing in the area. Humanity First is working with other relief organizations in the area to provide continual aid as the region recovers from the deadly disaster.
