Startup that Offers Non-Profits Free Creative Work to Launch Sept 15th
San Jose, CA, September 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Art Heroes, a philanthropic startup that matches digital media students from around the world with nonprofit causes in need of design, web and video content, will officially launch on Monday, September 15th.
“In today's world, important causes can only get the word out with great digital media," said the organization's founder, Kevin McMahon. "Art Heroes' mission is to provide nonprofits with these much-needed and often costly services free-of-charge. In return, our college and high school Art Heroes get valuable client experience, develop real-world projects for portfolios, provide a significant social benefit using their talents, and earn rewards from Art Heroes.”
In just four months, Art Heroes has already signed up over 100 “Art Hero Instructors” worldwide who will introduce their students into the program this fall.
“Our community is growing fast,” McMahon said. “As the school year begins, our instructors are introducing their students to Art Heroes. So we are excited to see what this huge alliance of caring and creative minds will provide to a wide range of important causes.”
To help manage this growth, McMahon has partnered with Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business and Social Entrepreneurship program.
"Santa Clara's mission to better the world and their expertise in the fields of entrepreneurship and communications make this a dream partnership for Art Heroes," McMahon said.
Additionally, Art Heroes is in the midst of a crowdfunding effort on RocketHub that has already exceeded $13,000.
While still growing, Art Heroes has already succeeded in its mission to "create for causes." This past summer, more than a dozen projects for non-profit clients were completed.
“Art Heroes came through in a big way for our agency," said Ana Jones, Program Director at Live Oak Adult Day Services in San Jose. "We needed a poster for an August fundraising event and Art Heroes produced an outstanding, professional finished product for us within days. Our staff couldn’t believe that a student produced work of this quality. We look forward to our continued partnership with Art Heroes.”
