About Charles R. Milam
Mr. Milam has over 45 years experience with the last 11.5 years in the oil and gas field. He is a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Aker Solutions, Inc. which is an international oil and gas engineering and off-shore products company that produces and sells offshore drilling technology, production platforms and subsea equipment. He is responsible for engineering specifications, following through during the manufacturing process and installation and commissioning when necessary. Mr. Milam has 31 years in chemical manufacturing and has managed large, multi-unit complex chemical companies. He has a strong background in facility management, operations, maintenance, process engineering, environmental and safety issues. Mr. Milam began his career as a Process/Project Engineer with Conoco Chemicals from 1969 to 1975. From 1975 to 1988 and from 1992 through 2000 he worked for ARCO Chemical (Lyondell) retiring as Plant Manager. He served as the Managing Director and Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology with Yukong ARCO Chemical from 1988 through 1992. From 2003 to 2006 Mr. Milam was the Owner & President of Poppyco, an engineering consulting company. He then served as a Senior Consultant, Process and Mechanical, with Jacobs Engineering from 2006 through 2013. He has been with Aker Solutions, Inc. since 2013. Throughout his career, Mr. Milam has lived in Germany, Russia, Japan and South Korea as well as 14 states throughout the U.S. He is especially proud of having served as Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology for a grass roots start-up company which resulted in the construction and operation of a major chemical manufacturing complex in South Korea, where he served on the Board of Directors. He was responsible for implementing manufacturing excellence in operations for manufacturing plants in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia. Mr. Milam obtained a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from McNeese State University in 1969. He married Rona on January 25, 1970 and they have two children, Tonya E. Little and Christopher L. Milam and nine grandchildren, Samara, Joshua, Cori, Jace, Jamie, Jarrett, Jerin, Jenna and Jillian. In his spare time he enjoys family activities, cooking and photography.
