Vigilant Personal Protection Systems Launches 130dB Personal Alarm to Benefit National Center for Missing and Exploited Children®
Minneapolis, MN, September 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Vigilant Personal Protection Systems (Vigilant PPS, Inc.), in coordination with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children®, announces the launch of a brand new alarm designed to help protect the user in emergency situations. One dollar from each new Vigilant model PPS-8KID sold (MSRP $19.99) will be donated directly to NCMEC to help combat child abductions and sex trafficking. The alarm is a spin off of the top-selling Vigilant PPS-8 personal alarm. The alarms are available at selected retailers nationwide, as well as online at Amazon.com, eBay.com, and directly from VigilantPPS.com.
The alarm can be carried in hand or placed into a purse or jacket pocket. Simply remove the grenade style activation pin to set off a 130dB alarm intended to call attention and summon help in emergencies. It also features a bright white LED light that can be used in low-light situations. The alarm runs on two AAA user replaceable batteries (included). A rugged plastic housing with the NCMEC logo and a safety wrist strap complete the user-friendly design. This same design is used by correctional officers, social services departments, and several State agencies and private organizations to protect individuals nationwide.
“The purchase of this alarm gives people a new way to reach out and join the fight to protect missing and exploited kids,” says Rachel Happe, VP of Operations for Vigilant Personal Protection Systems. “We hope that you will never need to use the alarm to protect yourself, but it will be on standby in case you do. And, you are helping fund vital programs at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children with every alarm purchased. Your purchase might help save a life in addition to your own.”
“We believe that child safety is a responsibility we all share,” said NCMEC VP of External Affairs, Holly Hawkins. “That’s why we are so grateful to Vigilant Personal Protection Systems for making child safety part of how it does business. Vigilant is giving its customers a chance to make a difference in the lives of children nationwide.”
