The West Coast Country Music Association (WCCMA) will hold its first ever “West Coast Country Music Challenge” Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Parkway Plaza in El Cajon.
El Cajon, CA, September 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The West Coast Country Music Association (WCCMA), today announced its first ever “West Coast Country Music Challenge” to be held Saturday, October 11 at Parkway Plaza in El Cajon. The event will bring together country music artists of all ages to crown winners in each of four major categories: contemporary country, traditional country, bluegrass and gospel. Not only will winners receive local recognition, they’ll also have the opportunity to compete at a national event in Tennessee.
The contest will feature celebrity and music profession judges and is open to single artists, vocal groups and bands. Entry deadline for participants is October 4.
WCCMA San Diego Chapter President, James Cramer, said, “We’re very pleased that Parkway Plaza and Starwood Retail Properties, have chosen to team with us on our kickoff event by providing such a great public venue. Our organization has had excellent success with similar events in Riverside County and we’re looking to do the same for San Diego.”
Ken Gray, Parkway Plaza Director of Marketing noted, “Country music on the public stage at Parkway Plaza is just a great fit for us. San Diego’s East County has a natural country “vibe” and hosting the West Coast Country Music Challenge will give our customers something extra and totally fun to do while they’re here.”
