Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty Takes ALS Ice Challenge
Realtors at Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty gathered together this week to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, an awareness and fund-raising campaign for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
Newport, RI, September 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Realtors at Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty gathered together this week to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, an awareness and fund-raising campaign for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease), which has gone viral via social media. The company had been challenged by the family of Paul A. Leys, co-owner.
The group, assembled in front of their Newport office for the activity, included David Leys, a Realtor with Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty who was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. The company, in addition to the “dousing,” made a monetary donation to Compassionate Care ALS, a non-profit organization in New England that offers support to individuals with ALS.
In commending CCALS and its founder Ron Hoffman for helping those with ALS and their families live more comfortable lives, Paul Leys also passed along the ice bucket challenge to Philip A. White Jr., president and CEO for Sotheby’s International Realty, as well as Wendy S. Purvey, chief marketing officer, and Tony Dolceamore, VP of Sotheby’s Northeast Affiliates.
