Under Fire Studios to Film Post-Apocalyptic Thriller "Feast or Famine” in Gunnison, CO
Gunnison, CO, September 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Colorado production company Under Fire Studios will film the post-apocalyptic thriller "Feast or Famine” this fall in Gunnison, CO.
Logline: After the apocalypse, a grieving recluse is visited by a desperate woman who draws him out of his home, and forces him to confront his inner turmoil.
"Feast or Famine" is a psychological thriller that personifies 21st century thinking: How many of us choose to believe lies on a daily basis, because we find comfort in the safety of our boxes? We operate out of fear, and are constantly choosing comfortable lies over the inconvenient truth.
The film is brought to you by Under Fire Studios, the award-winning producers of "Killer Ink". Under Fire Studios is known for their gritty, psychological storytelling, relatable characters, and affinity for stellar teamwork.
Writer / Director: Lewis Leslie
Lewis wrote and directed the film "Killer Ink", which features a cameo by legendary Star Wars actor Peter Mayhew. He is also responsible for a dozen short films; two of which have garnered awards. He has over a decade of writing experience, and numerous film festival appearances.
Assistant Director / Production Manager: Melissa Bazis
Melissa was the assistant director on the locally shot feature “At Granny's House”. She worked diligently on the film “Girlfriend Lies”, starring Tyler Ritter, son of late actor John Ritter. Melissa also masterfully directed the psychological horror film “Dead Girls”.
Accounting Director: Emerald Oport
Emerald has been a staple in Under Fire Studios' for years. Her primary responsibilities within the company include accounting, marketing, graphic design, public relations, billing, payroll, budgeting and legal assistance.
Director of Photography: Michael T. Sanchez
Michael has worked in the camera department on the films “MacGruber” and “Hatchet 2”. He was the director of photography on UFS' film “Killer Ink”, and most recently “Star Raiders: The Adventures of Saber Raine”, which stars Casper Van Dien from “Starship Troopers”. He brings with him many years of experience in the cinematic field, and the RED camera, which has been used by Hollywood professionals in films such as “The Hobbit”, “The Expendables 3”, “Transformers 4”, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, and countless more.
“Feast or Famine” stars the deeply talented Hollywood actor Bill Oberst Jr., known for his Emmy Award-winning performance in “Take This Lollipop”, a ratings-winning role on CBS-TV's “Criminal Minds”, and a featured episode of “True Blood”. Bill plays Flynn, a mysterious visitor who warns Cole of the dangers of getting too close to Sasha.
Andrew J. Katers plays Cole Nye. Cole is a loving husband turned recluse after his wife's untimely death. Some of Andrew's more notable roles include playing the lead role of Calvin in the upcoming crime-thriller series “Anomaly”, the heart-broken lover Thomas in “Better Days”, and Tom, a drug addict, in “Hungry Ghost”.
They will be surrounded by Colorado's finest talent, including young up-and-comer Lily Clibon. Lily is the daughter of assistant director Melissa Bazis. She recently starred in the emotionally charged film “Faith”. Charismatic actress Amirah Lee Counts will play Sasha, the female lead in the film, and longtime Under Fire Studios alum Kendra Buck will bring to life the character of Candace, Cole's deceased wife.
The multi-talented Jim LeVasseur will harness his inner conflict to play Blake, Sasha's missing boyfriend, and the extremely versatile Nissa Von Reiter will play Jenna, Cole's mother.
“Feast or Famine” will be shot entirely in the town of Gunnison, Colorado, which was named in honor of John W. Gunnison, a United States Army officer who surveyed for the transcontinental railroad in 1853. It is home to Western State Colorado University. Although the film wasn't shot there, it is the setting of the science fiction film “Aliens vs. Predator: Requim”.
