Westchase Church Core Church to Celebrate 1st Anniversary Among Tampa Churches
The newest Westchase Church, Core Church continues to expand with a focus on helping the community.
Tampa, FL, September 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Core Church, one of the newest of the Tampa churches which opened in the Westchase area last year, will be celebrating its first anniversary on Sunday, September 21st with a special service.
The service will begin at 10:30am at Westchase Elementary School, located at 9517 W. Linebaugh Ave, Tampa, with a special reflection on the past year and activities for the ever-growing children’s program.
“I am so excited to celebrate our first year as a church and believe that our next year will be even better,” said Senior Pastor Greg Phelps who, with his wife Lesa and three children, started Core Church last September after moving from Virginia Beach, VA.
“We have been so blessed with the people who have come alongside us to help us plant this church, and we feel that we have the foundation in place to really be able to help the community in Westchase and the greater Tampa Bay area,” added Phelps.
Affiliated with Wave Church in Virginia Beach, who helped establish Core Church along with the Association of Related Churches (ARC), Phelps left his position on the staff at Wave Church to follow the call that God had placed on his life to start one of the newest churches in Tampa.
An estimated 200 people took part in the initial Core Church service last year, establishing a Westchase church which is unique for the area in that it combines contemporary Christian music with an engaging style of sermons and a mix of attendees from every generation – all in a terrific location right on Linebaugh Ave.
“We have an age range from 9 months through to a couple in their 80s, so there is a place for everyone here. I truly believe that with our combination of prayer and worship, with our focus on Christ and the Word of God, there are friendships just waiting to be made here for everyone who comes,” Phelps stated.
