Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership Search Committee Retains Search Firm
Jorgenson Consulting selected for executive search for Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership.
Ballston Spa, NY, September 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors voted in May 2014 to create a local development corporation that will lead economic development efforts in Saratoga County. The Saratoga County Prosperity Partnership (SCPP) is a not-for-profit local development corporation created under the New York State Not-For-Profit Corporation Law and is considered a “local authority” as defined in the New York State Public Authorities Law. The organization unites the county’s economic development efforts under one umbrella.
The formation of the organization was recommended by TIP Strategies of Austin, Texas, which elected officials hired to create the county’s first Economic Development Strategic Plan, adopted in March 2014 by the County Board of Supervisors.
The Partnership will be governed by a 14-member Board of Directors serving two-year terms with the County Board of Supervisors appointing the members. The initial directors have been approved to oversee organizational tasks, including adopting bylaws and hiring staff.
Jorgenson Consulting has been retained to conduct a national search for an Executive Director with the credentials, experience, passion and leadership to ‘start-up’ the new economic development effort in Saratoga County, NY. Start-up experience is a must, as the hired candidate will need to build the organization and program from the ground up.
