Race for the Cure and Ogden’s Own Distillery Pair Up to Promote Cancer Awareness in Portland Clubs
Ogden, UT, September 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Oregon Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is teaming up with Ogden’s Own Distillery to invite club owners, exotic dancers and burlesque performers to “Protect Your Investment” by hosting a Race for the Cure Pink Party.
These Pink Parties hope to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer prevention. Many dancers and performers have less access to health care, which may result in undiagnosed or late-stage breast cancer. The Komen Foundation will help provide self employed women information and access to their services.
Strip clubs and bars in the Portland area, including CC Slaughters and The Boom Boom Room, will be hosting parties in the weeks leading up to the Race for the Cure on September 21, 2014. The parties will help to raise money and encourage dancers and patrons to participate in the race.
“We’re happy to participate in an event that gives back to the community is such unique way,” said Steve Conlin, managing partner of Ogden’s Own Distillery.
Ogden’s Own’s Five Wives Vodka will be providing signature cocktails and a portion of the proceeds will go to Race for the Cure.
