Being a small business itself, BTBbids.com truly understands the positive impact that these often underappreciated companies provide for their respective state and local economies. “The number of small business, minority business, women-owned business & disadvantaged business set-aside bids that are out there is simply staggering,” says BTBbids co-CEO Kyle Yoder. “The sad thing is that many of the local, state, and federal government set-a-side bids are unknown to the vast majority of these valuable bidders.” State contracts and local government agencies (municipalities, schools, colleges, authorities, etc) offer great bid contract opportunities, getting the information to the correct companies is the major impediment right now.

BTBbids plans to try to partner with some of the better known state and private organizations dedicated to furthering Small Business Enterprises (SBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBE), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). Many interesting ideas are being considered, including greatly reduced subscription prices (at near-cost), and even week or month-long trials, in order to get these businesses more involved in the state contract and local bid process.

To simplify the bidding process for companies, BTBbids is also preparing a Small/Minority/Women-owned/Disadvantaged Business Bidding Manual. This internet E-manual will include detailed, step-by-step information on everything from getting your business properly registered with your home state, registering for SBE/ MBE/ WBE/ DBE status, how to properly prepare a bid package, and strategies on how to be a successful bidder. They’ve been in touch with some of the brightest minds in the bid contracting industry, and expect to come up with an invaluable tool for bidders.

BTBbids.com is starting this project in its home state of New Jersey (NJ), but expects to expand to its other states, Pennsylvania (PA), New York (NY), Connecticut (CT) Massachusetts (MA), Delaware (DE), Maryland (MD), and Florida (FL).
