Fire Sprinkler Advocates Spearhead Drive to Build Fire Safe Homes Through South Shore Habitat for Humanity Project
Weymouth, MA, September 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Home fire sprinkler installation event at Hanover site Wednesday, September 24 at 10 am.
The Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Coalition is providing its time and manpower to provide fire-safe homes for deserving South Shore Families.
As part of South Shore Habitat for Humanity's work in Hanover, the National Fire Sprinkler Association, a member of the coalition is providing home sprinklers --and installing them-- at South Shore Habitat properties now under construction at 645 and 655 Center Street in Hanover.
"The National Fire Sprinkler Association is proud to donate time, labor and materials for this project," said NFSA New England regional manager David LaFond. "We are honored to be working with South Shore Habitat for Humanity, the National Fire Protection Association, the town of Hanover and every fire service organization in Massachusetts to support affordable housing that will be outfitted with lifesaving home fire sprinklers," LaFond said. "The families who will own these homes will live with the security and peace of mind that comes with having a fire safe house," he added. “Our coalition recommends home fire sprinklers for all new homes and we applaud our partners for promoting these essential safety devices."
According to South Shore Habitat’s Executive Director, Martine Taylor, “This type of collaboration is essential to the success of our home building efforts. These contributions enable us to help families move out of unsafe and substandard housing into simple, decent and affordable homes of their own.”
The partners on this project wish to invite members of the media to attend a work day event this coming Wednesday, September 24, at the construction site, to learn about the life saving benefits of having home sprinklers installed in every single and two-family home and about the work of South Shore Habitat for Humanity.
