Boardcon Announced a Quad-Core Compact Computer

The tiny board incorporates Freescale i.MX6Q quad-core CPU, 2GB DDR3 SDRAM, 8GB eMMC Flash and runs Ubuntu12.04/Android4.2.2/Linux+Qt OS.

Shenzhen, China, September 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Boardcon Embedded Design, an Original Design Manufacturer dedicated to providing high quality ARM core based industrial Single Board Computer and Computer-on-Module, has recently focused on Linux & Android projects running on Freescale’s i.MX6 system-on-chip and released a tiny embedded board call CompactIMX6 based on i.MX6Q quad-core ARM® Cortex™-A9 CPU.

The CompactIMX6 is clocked to 1.2GHz, backed up with 2GB DDR3 SDRAM, 4GB to 32GB eMMC Flash. A microSD socket offers more storage opportunities, and the standard SATA Hard Disk interface supports up to 1TB storage.

The 100 * 72mm compact board functional contents are similar to the latest generation of Pocket PC's, including Camera, Irda and cellular connectivity found in today's state-off-the-art hand-held devices.

It places coastline ports on the ends, including two USB 2.0 host ports, a micro-USB 2.0 device port, 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, 1360*768 VGA port, and 2-channel audio output interface (3.5mm audio jack).

The CompactIMX6 shouldn't come as much of a surprise that this thing runs either the Android 4.2.2 or Ubuntu12.04 operating systems, while Linux support is also released. Ready packages for these operating systems are available from Boardcon.

Available with Multi-Display, flexible expansion, and Multi-OS, the CompactIMX6 offers a self-contained solution requiring just an enclosure for implementing the final custom product.
