The Tesla Group Announces Grammy-Nominated Singer/Songwriter and Broadway Actress, Tamar Davis to Perform at the Cutting Room
Tamar Davis will perform in NYC in promotion of her new music compilation, “Jacking 4 Beats.”
New York, NY, September 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Grammy nominated Singer Songwriter and Hit Broadway Actress from Motown: the Musical, Tamar Davis, will perform at the popular New York City music venue, The Cutting Room, located on 44 E 32nd Street on Friday, October 3, 2014 from 7:30pm-9:00pm.
Tamar Davis is known as the muse and favorite singer of her mentor Prince, and has gained notoriety for being the music legend's "Protégé" while co-writing their Grammy-nominated duet "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed." Tamar has been releasing a song as a single every week since August 2014, under a series called "Jacking 4 Beats," where she has re-created original melodies on top of beats such as Meek Mills, Robert Glasper, and Drake, among others.
A graduate of University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music with a Bachelor in Music Business Tamar was honored as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts while attending Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where Tamar also received 3 Gold medals in the NAACP ACT-SO competition. In 2010, Tamar initiated and created Syren Music Group, LLC, a music entertainment company that specializes in the advancement of independent music and live entertainment. Through the creation of Syren Music Group, LLC, Tamar launched her independent album in 2011, My Name is Tamar, which garnered worldwide sales.
Tamar is currently performing on Broadway's Motown: The Musical. Previously, she starred in and toured with multiple Tyler Perry productions including "Madea Gets a Job," "Madea's Big Happy Family,” and "A Madea Christmas." Her new single and sophomore album, When I Dream, are scheduled to be released in 2015, along with her autobiography, Syren on Damascus. As 2014 comes to an end, Tamar is excited to promote and start her new ventures, "I am so excited to now call New York my 3rd home and premiere this new sound and new image in the city that thrives on live entertainment.
