Motorcyclists Ride for Kids with Brain Tumors in Alabama, California
Asheville, NC, September 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Ride for Kids motorcyclists in Alabama and California raised more than $118,000 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation on Sept. 21.
More than 500 riders attended the events in Leeds, Ala., and Cardiff, Calif., to honor our Stars, local children with brain tumors: Alyssa, Bayleigh, David, Karissa, Matt, Mica, Michelle, Molly, Steven, Travis and Zachary.
“When Molly first started treatment most kids with her tumor weren’t able to endure the treatments to finish all the stages, but then the doctors changed her protocol because of new research and she was able to complete the entire program,” Molly’s dad, Tim, told the riders. “That change in protocol was a direct result of new research funded by all of you and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, and it saved Molly’s life.”
Making life better for Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.
The events are still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org.
