All-Star Driver Leading the Way with New Drive-Only License

Watertown, CT, September 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- There are an estimated 54,000 undocumented citizens driving in Connecticut today. All-Star Driver, Connecticut’s leader in driver education with 70 locations throughout the State, is preparing to help them obtain a drive-only license which they will be eligible for in January. “Everyone shares the roads, no matter what their nationality or background, or whether they’re a driver, passenger or pedestrian,” states Jeff Stong, All-Star Driver Program Manager. “By helping undocumented citizens prepare to get their drive-only license, we are achieving our safety mission while giving folks the opportunity to become even more self-reliant and independent.”

All-Star Driver will be offering the 8-hour Safe Driving Course, required of all drive-only license applicants, at its Hartford, Hamden, Orange, Stamford, Waterbury and Danbury locations. (Note: Lesson #s 2-5 are included; Lesson #1 is for driver applicants under the age of 18). The All-Star Driver toll-free information number with Spanish-speaking Licensing Guides is 844-508-3408. You can call Monday through Thursday 9am-6:30pm, Friday 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 8am-12pm. We offer classes and behind-the-wheel lessons in Spanish designed not only to help you prepare for the license test, but to ensure your safety and confidence behind the wheel.

All-Star Driver is proud to announce their exclusive partnership with Neighbor’s Link in Stamford. Classes will be offered there during the weekends throughout November starting on the 8th. There will also be afternoon classes from 12-2pm on November 18-21 and December 9-12th.

The new “Drive Only” License is offered only to undocumented citizens who can prove their residency in Connecticut. Applicants still need to obtain a learner’s permit first and must hold it for at least 90-days before they can take the road test.

The first date that you can schedule an appointment for the knowledge test for the permit is December 1, 2014. This can only be done online at ct.gov/dmv. Click the link “Schedule Learner Permit Test Appointment.” The earliest date to take the test is January 2, 2015.

All-Star Driver is offering free informational sessions in both English and Spanish. Each session is 15-minutes followed by the opportunity to ask questions. More information is available at all-stardriver.com/enespanol.
