ChartWise CEO Delivered Pre-Conference Keynote Speech Prior to Exhibiting ChartWise 2.0 Software at Annual AHIMA Convention
Wakefield, RI, September 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- ChartWise Medical Systems, Inc. (www.chartwisemed.com), the industry leader in Computer-Assisted Clinical Documentation Improvement (CACDI) software showcased its new ChartWise 2.0 software at the 86th Annual American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Convention & Exhibit. Dr. Jon Elion, ChartWise’s founder and CEO, also participated as keynote speaker for the pre-convention Coding Meeting.
Dr. Elion’s keynote speech entitled “Challenges in Clinical Documentation: Stories from the Front Line,” featured stories and anecdotes to describe the trials and tribulations of clinical documentation from a clinician's point of view. Current topics of interest in clinical documentation and clinical documentation improvement were discussed and illustrated, including a look at the gap that exists between documentation needed by physicians and that needed by coders.
The ChartWise 2.0 software, which was displayed at the convention, boasts an advanced user interface complete with all of the tools documentation specialists need to perform their duties efficiently and accurately, as well as deliver quality data and proper reimbursement. DataScan Alerts will advise care and quality teams to mobilize resources and ensure quality measures are taken within minutes of inputting a particular diagnosis.
ChartWise 2.0 is also at the forefront of ICD-10 preparedness with Dual CDI and Dual Query functionality. Users will never have to worry about double coding or double querying again and whenever a code is entered from one code set, the corresponding code from the other code set will be made immediately viewable. Along with queries and suggestions specifically for ICD-10, ChartWise 2.0 can function as a teaching tool to help hospital staff ease the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10.
“We’re excited to demonstrate the best-in-class feature sets and functionality built into the ChartWise 2.0 platform at this year’s AHIMA Convention,” said Dr. Jon Elion. “ChartWise 2.0 represents a significant step forward in the field of clinical documentation improvement for documentation specialists, health information managers, administrators and physicians. From dual queries to real-time reporting and management dashboards that allow users to take a deeper dive into their data, ChartWise 2.0 raises the bar for what healthcare professionals should expect from their CACDI software.”
The AHIMA Convention is tailored specifically for the health information management professional, running September 29 – October 2 at the San Diego Convention Center. Dr. Elion’s keynote speech was on Saturday, September 27 at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Elion and the ChartWise team displayed and demonstrated ChartWise 2.0 software in booth 1721.
