North Shore Towers Country Club to Host Finals of Metropolitan Golf Association MetLife Women's Golf Tournament
Floral Park, NY, September 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On October 2, 2014, North Shore Towers Country Club, Floral Park, NY, will host as many as 60 exceptional women golfers who have qualified as winners of three area country club tournaments. They will tee off in the finals of the Metropolitan Golf Association’s annual Women’s Four-Ball Golf Tournament.
Robert Guido, head golf pro at North Shore Towers Country Club, said: “We are very proud to be chosen as host to many of the most talented women golfers in the metropolitan area for what has become a favorite golf event. Our beautifully manicured, 18-hole course has a reputation of being friendly and challenging to both scratch golfers and high handicappers.”
Participants in the tournament are all members of prestigious country clubs in the New York Metropolitan area. They had to finish at the top of qualifying tournaments at Garden City Country Club, Miniscongo Golf Club in Pomona, NY, and Birchwood Country Club in Westport, CT. The Metropolitan Golf Association ran the qualifying tournaments.
Metropolitan Life Insurance Company is a long-time sponsor of this event. All of the entry fees are used to support the Metropolitan Golf Association Foundation’s activities on behalf of thousands of young golfers in the metro area.
Bruce Savid, a member of the North Shore Towers Board of Directors, heads the Country Club committee responsible for Golf and Tennis facilities. Said Savid: “Maintenance throughout the Country Club is hallmarked by a single word - ‘uncompromising’. We have an unequaled maintenance staff and the resources to provide tournament-level golfing conditions for our highly-regarded golf course.”
