Vistage Michigan Selects Two for 2014 Soaring Eagle Award
Group for chief executives in Michigan honors WorkForce Software’s Kevin Choksi and National Food Group’s Sean Zecman with top award.
St. Clair Shores, MI, October 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Vistage Michigan selected two members as recipients of its 2014 Soaring Eagle Award: WorkForce Software CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Choksi and National Food Group President and CEO Sean Zecman.
The Soaring Eagle Award is presented annually and recognizes members overall success in business. It also acknowledges contributions to fellow members. The membership-based organization, which helps business leaders make better decisions and generate better results, honored Choksi and Zecman during its annual CEO Summit in September at the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth.
Since co-founding Workforce Software in 1999, Choksi has helped the company emerge as a key player in the competitive workforce management landscape for large employers. Choksi continues to navigate the company’s success, having transformed its offerings from a “traditional” software model to one that delivers solutions via the cloud. The new business model has attracted top-tier investors and enables WorkForce Software to recruit the quality talent required to support its high-profile clients while propelling it forward into its next phase of growth.
Today, Workforce Software handles clients all over the world. In addition to U.S. offices in Livonia, Mich., and Irvine, Calif., the company expansion now includes locations in the United Kingdom and Australia. This year, Workforce Software was selected for inclusion on the Inc. Magazine’s “Inc. 500,” recognizing America’s fastest growing companies, and Software Magazine’s “Software 500.” Workforce Software also has been named among “Michigan 100 Best Places to Work” every year since 2010.
“Kevin Choksi is the epitome of what you can do if you take advantage of your Vistage membership,” said Vistage Michigan CEO and Chair Dr. Robert Holland, Choksi’s group chair. “Kevin is such a great supporter of our organization and has become a leader after whom other members model their company’s practices.”
When Sean Zecman purchased National Food Group in 2003, he took over a company from his father that was generating $18 million in annual revenue. Today, revenues are nearly quadrupled that amount at $70 million, including 59 percent growth in the past three years alone. This success has helped the company earn a spot on the Inc. 5000, a list of America’s fastest-growing private companies in each of the past five years. In 2013, National Food Group was named among the “Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces.”
National Food Group continues to grow. In May, the company demonstrated its commitment to reinvesting in growth, expanding its San Diego office to 5,900 square feet that included additional space for shipping samples, an updated conference room, a larger employee lunchroom and a shower to use after working out.
“Sean Zecman is a credit to Vistage,” said Richard Best, Zecman’s group chair. “Not only is he continuing to drive his company forward, but also has clear objectives professionally and personally.”
