Junior League of Raleigh to Hold Judicial Panel and Reception

Raleigh, NC, October 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Twelve judicial candidates in the November election will be part of the Junior League of Raleigh’s Judicial Panel and Reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 8 at the Center for Community Leadership, located at 711 Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh. The 19 candidates running for Judge John Martin’s seat have also been invited to attend. Representatives for candidates unable to attend will be on hand as well.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include an opportunity for attendees to meet candidates, hear opinions during the panel discussion and participate in break-out groups. Whitney von Hamm, Executive Director of the Wake County Bar Association and the immediate past president of the Junior League of Raleigh, will moderate the panel.

Organized by the League’s Government Relations and Public Affairs (GRAPA) team, the event is designed to engage more people in the political process as well as educate League’s members about policy issues that are important to the League.

The following judicial candidates on the November ballot scheduled to attend are:

- Justice Cheri Beasley, (I), Candidate for re-election to the North Carolina Supreme Court
- Judge Samuel J. Ervin, Candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court
- Justice Robin Hudson, (I), Candidate for re-election to the North Carolina Supreme Court
- Judge Robert N. Hunter, Jr., Candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court
- Judge Eric L. Levinson, Candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court
- Judge Ola M. Lewis, Candidate for the North Carolina Supreme Court
- Michael L. Robinson, Candidate for North Carolina Supreme Court
- Judge Lucy N. Inman, Candidate for North Carolina Court of Appeals
- James (Ronnie) R. Ansley, Candidate for Wake County District Court Judge, 10th Judicial District
- Judge Craig Croom, Candidate for Wake County District Court Judge, 10th Judicial District
- Judge Louis B. Meyer, III, (I), Candidate for re-election for Wake County District Court Judge, 10th Judicial District
- Judge Charles P. Gilliam, Candidate for Wake County District Court Judge, 10th Judicial District

The event will be held at the League’s headquarters, the Center for Community Leadership, located at 711 Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh. The CCL is an affordable training and meeting space available to nonprofit organizations, businesses and community partners to receive training, problem solve and spark change.
