Moore & Van Allen Attorney Elected to Serve as American Bar Association District Representative
Moore & Van Allen PLLC Charlotte Litigation Associate M. Cabell Clay was appointed to serve as the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s District 9 Representative to the American Bar Association.
Charlotte, NC, October 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Moore & Van Allen PLLC is pleased to announce that Charlotte Litigation Associate M. Cabell Clay was appointed to serve as the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s District 9 Representative to the American Bar Association. Her term will last for two years.
As the District 9 (NC) Representative, Clay’s primary role is to serve as a liaison between the North Carolina Bar Association/local bar associations and the American Bar Association (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD). In conjunction, Clay will serve as the voice of her affiliates as a member of the YLD Executive Council and Executive Committee. District representatives also handle Disaster Legal Services under the ABA YLD’s contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The ABA YLD has 34 district representatives and four national representatives. Clay was formally elected to the position at the YLD Annual Meeting during the NCBA Annual Conference earlier this year.
Clay practices general commercial litigation and has assisted clients in class action defense, regulatory defense, internal investigations, securities and mortgage fraud defense, contract claims, civil appeals, Department of Labor agency disputes, and trade secret litigation, among other matters. Active in pro bono work, Clay has also represented indigent clients in landlord/tenant cases, as well as victims of domestic violence. She was recently named to the Council for Children’s Rights Board, and was awarded Moore & Van Allen’s hallmark 2014 Sally & Bill Van Allen Public Service Award.
