Cleveland, OH, October 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Advanced Systems & Designs 600-50-KB-USB SmartCable™ Keyboard USB single gage interface with Excel compatible output, will connect standard Mitutoyo electronic gages (indicators, micrometers, calipers, etc.), to a computer (gage cable not included). The SmartCable™ Keyboard USB will also connect other electronic gages that mimic the Mitutoyo Digimatic signal such as Chicago Dial Indicator (CDI), Mahr Federal, Ono Sokki and others, to output data in Excel or other SPC internet explorer based programs. The SmartCable™ Keyboard will make the gage readings appear as if they were typed in using a standard keyboard and eliminate data collection errors.
The output of this SmartCable™ Keyboard is a standard USB 2.0 keyboard signal. Connecting the SmartCable™ with its built-in keyboard hardware to a computer will allow it to be identified as a keyboard device that can send data to any Microsoft Windows application -no messy software wedge required.
Some electronic gages may also obtain power from the SmartCable™ Keyboard. The computer USB connection provides 5vDC power to the SmartCable™ Keyboard, as well as to pin 9 on the Digimatic connection. If the electronic gage cannot receive power from the Digimatic connection, it must have a power supply (batteries) of its own.
Readings can be triggered by any of the following:
* Pressing the push button on the SmartCable Keyboard
* Depressing a connected footswitch (not included)
* Pressing the send button on the gage (if it has one)
Similar to other Advanced Systems and Designs products, this SmartCable™ Keyboard is easily configured to output data in different modes, such as CR, TAB, up, down, left, right continuous reading, continuous reading with 10, 15, or 30 second delay between readings. Additional firmware can be provided to meet special user requirements.
Even though Advanced Systems and Designs makes their products easy to use, a detailed operation manual is included with each SmartCable™ Keyboard. Standard cable length is six foot. However special cable lengths are available upon request.
