Fear City Chicago Haunted House Launches 2014 Halloween Season
Another Halloween Season for Fear City Chicago Haunted House gets underway with a number of events and reviews leading up to their Opening Weekend which was held from October 3-5, 2014.
Morton Grove, IL, October 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Fear City Chicago Haunted House launched their new season on a cloudy and blustery fall evening on Friday October 3 which ran through Sunday October 5 at their 40,000 square foot facility located just on the border of Chicago's northwest side at 8240 N Austin Avenue in Morton Grove, IL.
This year, Fear City is joined by a second haunted house titled "Our Lady of the Cursed - An Abandoned School for Girls" (Cursed for short). Fear City is a tour of the dark side of Chicago's alleys, underpasses, "El" tunnels and more while Cursed is a walk through a haunted high school. Both haunted houses are located inside the facility and feature over 100 actors, special effects, lighting, sound and scenic details created by the owners whose backgrounds are in theater, television and movie set and artistic design.
New for 2014 is the band "V is For Villains" which will play live on Friday and Saturday evenings with their DJ, "Mr. Agitator" on stage during the week during the run of the show which ends on Saturday, November 1, 2014. Both haunted houses (Fear City and Cursed) will be open for just 19 performance days this season. A local band from Morton Grove, Bubbles Erotica" will be a featured guest on Devil's Night, October 30th. Also newly featured for 2014, laser tag gaming will be held in the haunted house on each Monday and Tuesday in October.
Fear City's Press Preview Party held on September 26 hosted over 200 people for a first look at both haunted houses and a live performance by V is For Villains which afterwards garnered positive reviews including those on Chicago Tribune's Chris Jones on WLS-TV (ABC) "Windy City Live" aired on September 29 and in the industry blog, "Behind The Thrills".
The local community helped to usher in the new season with a ribbon cutting ceremonial grand opening hosted by the Morton Grove and Skokie Chambers of Commerce on Wednesday, October 1. Like last year, Fear City is donating a portion of ticket sales to the D219 Education Foundation to benefit kids in need in the Niles Township High Schools' district, where Fear City Chicago Haunted House is located.
