New Concept in Indoor Flea Markets Coming to South Florida

Located on 20 acres of land, the Coconuts Flea Market, now under development, will offer consumers two unique choices of places to shop; first, a fully air-conditioned 110,000 square foot marketplace of new merchandise in a tropical themed setting and next door, a separate 35,000 square foot also fully air conditioned area filled with 4x8-foot tables available for rent by the day, week or month for the sale of new and used merchandise.

Margate, FL, October 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Moskin Realty is pleased to announce a new venture to benefit bargain hunters and smart shoppers throughout South Florida. Both markets will be located in the same strip center along Coconut Creek Parkway between the Turnpike and State Road 7 and connected via a short walkway between the two buildings.

The first phase of the project will consist of leasing out 600 spots in the main building, formerly occupied by Saveology in Margate, Florida. Having successfully operated flea markets for many years in New Jersey, owner Sid Moskin has been looking for the right spot to open one up in South Florida since he moved here in 1995. “We’re going to be a destination like nothing else around,” Moskin said. “I have been looking for the right location for a long, long time and this is it.”

Unlike some of the other Flea Markets in Fort Lauderdale, “Coconuts” will limit how many vendors per industry category will be allowed to sell in their main building where only new merchandise and valuable collectibles will be for sale. This makes each spot even more valuable for vendors. Seven restaurants are planned for the food court giving visitors some time to refuel before continuing their shopping experience. An additional restaurant and ice cream shop will be located with outside entrances in the strip center between the two markets.

The prospect of an indoor flea-market being built at the intersection of Margate and Coconut Creek has excited many in the area who feel that the additional traffic could only benefit this part of South Florida. “The Margate Chamber of Commerce along with the City officials and staff are all committed to helping this major project succeed. We are very excited about helping Mr.and Mrs. Moskin fulfill their dream. It coincides with many of ours,” says Rick Rickardi, President of the Margate Chamber of Commerce.

The Grand Opening of the Coconuts Flea Market is slated for January, 2015
