"Our young California patients donated enough high concentration fluoride toothpaste and toothbrushes to supply a Nicaraguan orphanage and school for at least 6 months," said Bryan Randolph. "It's part of our prevention program there. It begins with the kids morning tooth brushing with fluoride toothpaste and no eating, drinking or rinsing for two hours after to get maximum benefit. Since they are in a controlled environment this is possible.
"The program also includes a twice per year fluoride varnish application. This last trip we saw many parents of students as well and did a lot of extractions along with some long overdue deep cleaning. Hopefully, through better care, this will help the kids and their families in Nicaragua find their purpose and ability."
