NAFA And NETS Encourage Organizations to Drive Your Safety Culture Home
Leading fleet association and traffic safety organization make driver safety a prominent topic in October.
Princeton, NJ, October 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A major goal of any organization is to get their drivers wherever they need to be safely. Making it clear that safety behind the wheel is expected of everyone who makes the vehicle a part of their work is the job of the employers, developing the safety culture that is consistent and adhered to by all.
Drive Safely Work Week 2014 is focused on this all-important aspect of work safety. DSWW is an annual safety campaign put forth by the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS). The campaign, which takes place October 6-10, 2014, contains numerous tips for businesses to use to remind their employees about important safety issues. NAFA Fleet Management Association and NAFA's Safety Advisory Council are proud to help promote the annual campaign and recommend businesses download the free materials available at trafficsafety.org/drivesafelyworkweek for their employees.
Drive Safely Work Week, which has been sponsored by NETS since 1996, encourages businesses to utilize a free campaign toolkit to help educate employees on the importance of safety. The "Driving Your Safety Culture Home" campaign materials are not dated and may be used anytime throughout the year. The employer toolkit provides easy-to-use Web-based resources, with actionable steps are provided to help drivers be at their best behind the wheel. The campaign was developed using the expertise of NETS' member companies, collectively representing a fleet of more than half a million vehicles that travel in excess of ten billion miles globally each year.
Over the past three years, over 3500 organizations have participated annually, representing 16.5 million employees per year.
Safe driving is essential to the fleet managers who belong to NAFA, a group that collectively manages several million vehicles travelling on North American roads each day. NAFA has lent its support to the annual campaign for the past several years through a series of articles in NAFA publications such as FLEETSolutions magazine, NAFAConnection newsletter, press releases, and email blasts; as well as giving safety a prominent platform at the annual Institute & Expo conference and the creation of a committee devoted entirely to safety topics.
