Philadelphia Employment Law Attorney Ryan Hancock Joins Willig, Williams & Davidson

Former PHRC attorney joins Philadelphia union-side labor and employment law firm as of counsel.

Philadelphia, PA, October 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Philadelphia labor, employment and workers’ compensation law firm Willig, Williams & Davidson is pleased to announce that employment law attorney Ryan A. Hancock has joined the firm as of counsel.

An experienced employment law attorney, Hancock is a passionate advocate for working people who have suffered discrimination in the workplace. He counsels and represents clients in matters relating to sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and whistleblower actions, wrongful termination, employee benefits, overtime and wage and hour concerns, and employment agreements, including contract negotiation, non-compete agreements, and severance.

“Ryan is a skilled advocate who is passionate about protecting the rights of working men and women, and we are pleased to welcome him to our legal team,” said Deborah R. Willig, managing partner of Willig, Williams & Davidson. “With his background in negotiating and litigating discrimination claims, we are confident that he will provide excellent counsel to our union-side and individual clients.”

Prior to joining Willig, Williams & Davidson, Hancock served as the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, the Commonwealth’s civil rights enforcement agency. While there, he conducted all aspects of complaint investigation, settlement negotiation, prosecution and enforcement of hundreds of complaints of unlawful discrimination that violated Pennsylvania’s civil rights laws regarding employment, public accommodation, housing and education.

In keeping with Willig, Williams and Davidson’s tradition of giving back to the community through public service, Hancock co-founded and serves as board director of Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity. He oversees the University of Pennsylvania Law School’s Criminal Record Expungement Project legal clinic while supervising pro bono legal staff and law student volunteers in helping people clear their criminal and/or arrest records. Hancock also is a member of the Young Professional Advisory Board for Philadelphia’s Bethesda Project, which provides shelter, housing, and other support to chronically homeless men and women.

A 1999 graduate of Philadelphia’s University of the Arts, Hancock earned his law degree from Rutgers School of Law in 2003 and clerked in Camden County Superior Court, Criminal Division for the Honorable David G. Eynon.
