Accretive Health Shared Service Center Hosts Fundraising Event
Accretive Health employees at the company’s Shared Service Center in Kalamazoo, Mich., hosted a fundraiser in September to support local organizations in the communities they serve.
Chicago, IL, October 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Accretive Health employees at the company’s Shared Service Center in Kalamazoo, Mich., hosted a fundraiser in September to support local organizations in the communities they serve. Approximately 200 employees participated in a fun-filled day that featured competitive games and t-shirt and candy gram sales that continued all week. The event was sponsored by Accretive Helping Hands, the not-for-profit organization created by employees of Accretive Health.
“Each participant made a donation to play basketball free throw, a putt-putt hole-in-one, beanbag toss, or Bingo,” said Alicia Benthem, Accretive Health human resources manager. “Our employees had a great time and were very generous. Accretive Helping Hands raised more than $400 in games alone.”
According to Benthem, $654 was collected in total and will be distributed between two local groups. “We plan on using half of the funds to help the Hospital Hospitality House of Southwest Michigan with their holiday needs which include: home-cooked meals, homemade snacks and clothing/toiletry items for guests,” she explained. “The other half will be used for our holiday ‘Adopt-a-Family’ program."
Each year, Accretive Helping Hands identifies a family in need and provides food, gifts, household supplies and other ancillary necessities to them during the holiday season. “This fundraiser gave us an excellent head start,” she added.
