Villeroy & Boch Challenges Creatives to Re-Imagine Our Daily Living
New York, NY, October 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Design competition invites architects and designers to create a multisensory bathroom concept for a chance to win an unforgettable trip to Europe.
Villeroy & Boch in partnership with ArchDaily.com announces the launch of its first North American Designer Bathroom Challenge. The competition is open to licensed architects and designers, and challenges creative professionals to re-envision the bathroom space, and produce a “multisensory” bathroom experience concept for a chance to win an exciting trip Germany.
From the minute we jump in the shower to the last moments as we unwind with a nightly beauty regimen, the bathroom is where we start and finish the day… and everything in between. Yet with so many essential functions throughout the day, the bathroom is often overlooked as a secondary and purely functional space in our lives.
Well-designed innovative bath and wellness products are at the core of Villeroy & Boch culture. They are easy to use and maintain, and offer modern functionality. But when this technology is enhanced with complementing textures and decor, ambient lighting, comforting sounds and even scents, the functional bathroom space transforms into a wellness experience that employs multiple senses.
Villeroy & Boch challenges designers to submit original ideas that would elevate and enhance the use of the bathroom. The company hopes that its own high-end bath and wellness products in a variety of sophisticated styles will inspire designer creativity and help re-imagine our daily routine and transform it into a true multisensory experience.
The winning designer will be awarded an unforgettable trip to Germany to attend the ISH 2015 Fair in Frankfurt, and explore Villeroy & Boch’s fascinating European heritage at the company historic headquarters in Mettlach. There the winner will stay at the traditional European castle, meet with the in-house design team, visit Villeroy & Boch Museum and Spa, and experience craftsmanship firsthand during the private tour of the porcelain factory.
Designer entries will be evaluated by an expert jury panel, that includes Constantin von Boch, a ninth generation family member of the company founders. To enter the competition please visit ArchDaily.com. Submission deadline is December 31, 2014. The winners will be announced at the KBIS fair in Las Vegas in January 2015.
