Powers Insurance and Benefits to Renovate and Relocate

St. Louis' Hilliker Corporation assists company with purchase.

St. Louis, MO, October 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Powers Insurance and Benefits purchased a building with a view: the world’s largest Amoco sign plus an unobstructed panorama of both Forest Park and the St. Louis Arch.

Located at 6828 Oakland Ave. at the corner of Clayton and Oakland avenues, the 11,000-square-foot property was purchased for $675,000. It was built in 1927 with renovations in 1969 and is part of the Hi-Pointe neighborhood.

Powers Insurance and Benefits provides personal and business insurance, as well as employee benefits services. Founded in 1991, the family owned and operated company has 18 employees and has been located at 7745 Carondelet in Clayton for nearly 24 years.

Hilliker Corporation agent Powell Kalish represented the buyer, City Hi-Pointe, LLC which is owned by the principals of Powers Insurance and Benefits. NAI Desco agent Carl Concellor represented the seller, 6828 Oakland, LLC.

The company plans to fully renovate the building, which has been vacant for approximately 10 years, and move in mid-2015. Renovations include preserving as much of the building’s exterior as possible while totally gutting the interior. Renovations are estimated at more than $1 million and include adding an elevator, replacing all windows, and keeping the building as environmentally friendly as possible.
