Taste of Hilo to Showcase Best of Big Island Food – LuxuryBigIsland.com
The 16th Annual Taste of Hilo, sponsored by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii, was held on October 19, 2014 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Sangha Hall.
Kamuela, HI, November 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- LuxuryBigIsland.com welcomed holidaymakers to the 16th Annual Taste of Hilo, which was held last October 19, 2014, 1pm to 3pm at the Honpa Hongwanji, Hilo Betsuin Sangha Hall, Kilauea Avenue.
Over 35 restaurants, chefs, bakers, dessert pattiseries, and beverage suppliers participated in this exciting event, which is organized every year by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Hawaii.
Among the most awaited were the Hawaii Beef Producers, who came with a wide array of meat treats made of locally raised, grass-fed beef. Special cocktails were also prepared, as well as other culinary delights featuring local farm produce. Attendees treated themselves to an afternoon of fine eats, while supporting the agriculture industry based on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Even better, part of the proceeds from ticket sales went to the JCCIH Foundation Fund, which has been instrumental in funding student scholarships, faculty and staff development programs, and campus-wide improvements at the Hawaii Community College.
