High Durability Wall Coating Technology from Bayer MaterialScience LLC Protects, Adds Functionality to Surfaces
New Orleans, LA, October 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Architectural coatings for commercial and institutional applications have their own unique requirements for durability, design and meeting regulations. Coatings play an important role in not only preserving surfaces but also making them functional, beautiful and more sustainable.
Bayer MaterialScience LLC offers a solution for avoiding the time and expense of repeatedly repainting walls that are frequently scrubbed, scratched marred or disinfected. Tough architectural wall and trim coatings built on the company’s High Durability (HD) technology are engineered to survive repeated scrubbings with harsh chemicals without compromising their integrity or changing their color.
Additionally, Bayer MaterialScience LLC offers dry erase paint technology for conference rooms, classrooms and children's rooms. The clear, dry erase paint technology, professionally applied over a previously painted wall, allows the wall area to be written on with dry erase markers while retaining the original paint’s color.
Bayer’s technology for coatings will be featured in the GreenZone during the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, Oct. 22-24 in New Orleans. This year’s GreenZone project is a modular classroom/lab/community center pre-constructed and displayed at the conference. At the conclusion of Greenbuild, it will be moved to its permanent Lower 9th Ward home in a residential block south of the Bayou Bienvenue Wetlands Triangle viewing platform. It will serve as a community center and K-12 classroom for educating students on water quality, water conservation, storm water management, and resiliency.
Bayer’s HD wall coating technology exceeds the stringent protocols of MPI #252, 254 and 256 Paint Standards, can be formulated to specify low-gloss finishes with excellent scrubbability, achieves desired high durability in low sheen finish and hides drywall defects.
The professionally applied dry erase paint technology gives designers and home owners the flexibility of using their current paint color palette while creatively utilizing classroom or playroom spaces without the worries of difficult-to-remove shadowing or ghosting due to the use of dry erase markers.
For more information about these and other Bayer materials and technologies for the sustainable building and construction industry visit the company’s booth #1223 or the GreenZone during Greenbuild.
