Barnett Shale Charity Gala
The First Christmas Event Benefiting the Police and Fire Fighters Memorial and the Salvation Army.
Fort Worth, TX, November 02, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Barnett Shale Charity Gala announced today the first Barnett Shale Charity Gala on December 13th, 2007 at the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth . “Our Gala is the first Barnett Shale Charity event honoring our Heroes, “The Police and Fire Fighters Memorial and the Salvation Army,” says Marie Valden, Honorary Chair of the Barnett Shale Charity Gala.
When asked why she and her husband Don Valden, CEO of Texas Right of Way Associates, Inc. wanted to hold this event Marie answered, “The Barnett Shale play has generated long term employment for many and wealth for others in Fort Worth. So, I wanted to orchestrate an event that would reflect the prosperity we share because of the Barnett Shale.”
The Police and Fire Fighters Memorial will be a reminder that there are those special men and women who are willing to give it all to protect and defend the citizens of this community. The memorial will also provide a place for family members of the fallen to express their grief and share with others the life of a real hero.
The Salvation Army is on the lips of every one at Christmas time. With bell ringers, the red kettle and the Angel trees its’ difficult not to notice that there are still needs to be met in our community. The Salvation Army in the North Side of Fort Worth is a sanctuary for countless people who find themselves in need of affordable day care, meals, jobs, clothing, shelter, assistance in drug rehab and counseling. The Salvation Army fights the war against pain and suffering where it needs to be fought, in the neighborhood, one child, one man and one woman at a time.
The atmosphere, history and decor of the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, during the holiday season, makes it the ideal place to enjoy an evening of elegant dining with individual lighted ice sculptures, music by the incomparable Pardi Gras, dancing, and a truly amazing silent auction.
Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief and his wife Rosie, long time supporters of the Memorial Fund, along with other celebrity guests will be in attendance.
