Grey Water Wagon Can Help Drought Stricken Californians Water Their Lawns
Grey Water Wagon can help Californians water their lawns and landscaping despite the drought by recycling grey water.
Melbourne, Australia, October 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Grey Water Wagon is a small portable grey water collection and distribution unit. It is designed to assist the average household with water conservation, particularly during times of drought and water restrictions. Created by the Australian Academy of Innovation, the grey water recycling system will soon be available in the U.S.
Grey water is the largest available recyclable water source. Every household produces grey water every day. However, it is minimally used because people in general do not understand or see the benefits in recycling grey water until they are faced with a dire situation of drought and water restrictions.
“Grey Water Wagon provides effective California Drought relief for parched lawns and Gardens by recycling grey water from the Bathroom and Laundry. Grey Water is produced by every household every day both here in California and around the world,” said Tom Davis, CEO Australian Academy of Innovation. “It’s an untapped resource in these drought affected times. Until now. The Grey Water Wagon collects, transports and redistributes Grey Water from the Bathroom and Laundry without the need for diversion plumbing and for a fraction of the cost of other recycling systems.”
Grey Water Wagon features a twin pump design, built in solar panel recharge and AC top up charger. It has a 20 gallon capacity and the ability to collect up to 90 percent of grey water from the shower and 100 percent from bath and laundry. It can provide faucet pressure from 60 foot garden hose. It shuts off when full to allow any excess water to escape down the drain which eliminates spills or overflow from collection point or unit. When it is empty it automatically shuts off to eliminate operator supervision when discharging to lawns and gardens.
Grey water has environmental benefits which include greater quality of surface and groundwater when preserved by the natural purification generated in the top layers of soil than generated by water treatment processes. Grey water also lowers fresh water use and has less impact on septic tank or treatment plant.
Grey water recycling can help Californians water their lawns. California is in the midst of its worst drought in 100 years. Things are so dire that California Governor Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency in January and asked all Californians to conserve their water use by 20 percent. Some cities have issued mandatory restrictions on outdoor watering.
“With Governor Jerry Brown and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti calling for a 20 percent reduction in water consumption, the Grey Water Wagon is the sensible effective low cost answer to help Californians achieve just that, and still maintain a healthy lawn and landscape,” said Davis.
