DSI to Lead Discussions on Military Mobile Power and Operational Energy with Senior Leaders in Military, Government, and Industry in Alexandria, VA
Defense Strategies Institute announces their 3rd Military Mobile Power Summit that will bring together stakeholders across Military, Government, Academic, and Industry in a “Town Hall” forum at The Mary M. Gates Learning Center, Alexandria, VA. The focus for the Summit will be on “Enhancing Military Capability through Operational Energy.”
Alexandria, VA, October 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The DoD is the biggest institutional energy consumer in the world, with over 75% deriving from “operational energy” (OE). This past spring, the DoD released its Directive on Energy Policy. Per the Directive, “...it is DoD policy to enhance military capability, improve energy security, and mitigate costs in its use and management of energy.” With increased focus within the OSD, there are enhanced efforts and initiatives underway across all the Services to help transform OE.
DSI’s upcoming Summit recognizes that in a field such as mobile power, where there are multiple agents acting in tandem, it is extremely important that all involved are working towards a cohesive and holistic approach. “While the field has seen an immense amount of technological advancements, especially in alternative and renewable energy sources, we believe that truly great advancements are on the horizon and this is why our Senior Partners decided to lend our expertise towards creating a forum that can bring together stakeholders across the continuum of the community,” Ms. Monica Mckenzie, Senior Partner from DSI stated.
A look at the early agenda, reveals a diversity of senior level speakers across the Services speaking on topics such as:
1.- Multi-source tactical energy harvesting technologies
2.- Portable power for austere weather environments
3.- Tactical renewable energy programs
4.- Biofuels and advanced “drop in” fuels
5. -Optimization of microgrids and fuel cells
6.- Energy integration in data-to-decision: Intelligent power management
7.- R&D in waste-to-energy conversions for FOBs
8.- Tactical Shelters and energy storage
9.- Streamlined acquisition & commercial item procurement
DSI’s Military Mobile Power Summit allows for civilian and military users across the energy and power spectrum to come together to learn, discuss, debate, and help advance these key areas in a relaxed forum where conversations are non-attribution.
Anyone interested in participating in the Summit can go to Defense Strategies Institute's website at www.dsigroup.org for more information or contact Lisa Madison at lmadison@dsigroup.org, 1-917-435-1266
