Advertising Agency Karsh Hagan Partners with the CU Health Plan to Launch Kids Wellness Initiative That is Powered by Fun
Karsh Hagan, a full-service marketing consultancy and advertising agency, recently launched the new kids’ health and fitness initiative Brussels + Muscles.

Karsh Hagan, a full-service marketing consultancy and advertising agency, recently launched the new kids’ health and fitness initiative Brussels + Muscles. The agency was responsible for insights, strategy, brand messaging, creative development and implementation to drive awareness and membership for the new kids’ brand. Brussels + Muscles engages kids and parents through integrating animation and gamification to encourage less screen time and more sunshine.
“We are very excited to announce Brussels + Muscles by Be Colorado. Together with Karsh Hagan we developed a one-of-a-kind brand and program that empowers kids and parents to develop healthy habits,” says Tony DeCrosta, Chief Plan Administrator for the CU Health Plan and Be Colorado. “We were searching for a national quality creative agency that knows Colorado, and Karsh Hagan’s experience for helping successfully brand other CU initiatives made our partnership a natural fit.”
Brussels + Muscles is a part of the wellness program Be Colorado and is available at no cost to all CU Health Plan member kids between the ages of 5 and 11. The program partners with GeoPalz and ZisBoomBah, two leading kids’ fitness and nutrition programs, to use gaming, tracking and rewards to help kids turn more of their time into playtime. Brussels + Muscles also includes a custom educational curriculum that gives parents and kids the tools to track progress and help their families become healthier.
Since its launch in late September, Brussels + Muscles has already seen success. Approximately 1600 parents and children attended either the Denver Zoo or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo launch events, and almost 13% of all eligible kids enrolled in the program. In addition, the campaign creative garnered honorable mention at the 2014 Art Directors Club Denver awards for both categories Broadcast Design and Identity Development.
