Central Market General Store Adds Vendors
In Time for the Holidays, Several New Vendors Join the General Store at the Central Sarasota Farmer's Market in Sarasota, Florida
Sarasota, FL, October 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Several new vendors have joined the Central Market General Store at the Central Sarasota Farmer's Market (CSFM).
Perry's Roadside BBQ, a current food vendor at the farmer's market, will place its original barbecue sauce for sale in the General Store. The award-winning sauce was created by proprietor and local legend Washington Perry.
Tampa Bay area resident Gigi Taylor will offer Papa Lalo's whole-bean coffee, locally hand-roasted coffee from the rich volcanic soil of her family's coffee plantation in Boquete, Panama. Papa Lalo's is committed to a sustainable approach which includes caring for the workers, the soil, sources of mountain spring water, and utilizing reusable natural by-products. All coffee beans are handpicked.
Sunshine Canning proprietor and Certified Master Food Preserver Lisa Fulk, who grew up in the Sarasota/Bradenton area, will offer a selection of jams and jellies including apple pie jam, balsamic strawberry jam, ginger pear jam, red pepper jelly, tomato jam and jalapeno jelly, as well as spicy bourbon pickles and IPA beer pickles. One of her main missions is to support local farmers and most of her products are made from local, seasonal produce. Organic produce is used whenever possible and no preservatives are added.
Local food artisan Kristine Insalaco-Gaioni will offer her award-winning caramel spreads from her Lick My Spoon collection of products, including her basic caramel sauce which won a Good Food Award in 2014, plus espresso, bourbon and lavender flavored caramel sauces. From Kristine's Italian import company, Sapore Della Vita, will be several flavors of olive oils including traditional, lemon, rosemary, garlic and two kinds of aged balsamic vinegar.
Les Soups Fantastique de Monique, a soup cookbook by French chef Monique Fisher, is now available at the General Store in time for fall weather. Fisher, who learned the culinary arts from her grandmother and mother, owned and operated a restaurant in Sarasota called Artists’ Palette Cafe where she developed and refined her soup recipes.
The Central Sarasota Farmer’s Market meets every Saturday from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI), 4748 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota, Florida 34233. The farmer's market features locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, food vendors, live entertainment, local artists, artisans and service providers -- in a convenient, pet-friendly location with plenty of parking and indoor restrooms.
