Fairfield Harbour Selected as Toys for Tots Drop-Off Location in Craven County Area
Local Boating and Golf Community Will Collect Toys to Benefit Children in Need for the Holidays.
New Bern, NC, November 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has been selected as an official Toys for Tots drop-off location for the Craven County area. Beginning Saturday, Nov. 1 through Monday, Dec. 15, friends and residents of Fairfield Harbour and the surrounding communities will collect new, unwrapped toys to be distributed by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to less fortunate children in the area.
The greater New Bern community is also welcome and encouraged to donate. Toys may be dropped off in the boxes inside the Fairfield Harbour Property Owners Association’s office, located at 902 Coral Reef Drive.
Started by a U.S. Marine Corps reservist in 1947, Toys for Tots has distributed more than 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children since its inception. The cause is close to the heart of Brandon Pastor, Fairfield Harbour’s management assistant. Pastor served eight years in the Marine Corps and retired as a corporal before joining Fairfield Harbour. He has been instrumental in involving the community in the Toys for Tots organization.
