Free Study Visit to Sweden or Italy for People Involved in Farming
Are you involved in a farm business/farm advisory service or a smallholder and would you like to add value to your basic produce?
Oswestry, United Kingdom, November 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Enterprise and Development Department at Walford and North Shropshire College (WNSC) is leading study tours to Sweden and Italy in 2015. These are fact finding all-expenses paid study visits for groups of farmers or people closely associated with farming/agricultural businesses.
The study tours will be - Sweden 11th – 25th April 2015 and Italy 3rd – 17th May 2015 (participants only able to partake in one visit).
Participants will be visiting and learning about different farming and farm business practices. The groups will visit a wide range of diverse farm businesses, most of which specialise in various types of farm business diversification enterprises.
Participants will learn how these businesses operate and the techniques used to add value to their base products. The groups will discuss the diversification enterprises that have evolved, see how they are running and how effective these are in sustaining core farm business. There will be the opportunity to learn about the marketing support organisations and how best to get the products from the farm to the market place.
The group will be accompanied by College representatives and a professional interpreter will accompany the group on the visits and seminars. Basic language and cultural training will be given prior to the visits so that maximum value can be gained from the study tour and a specialist glossary of technical terms will be available to everyone.
There will also be time for some sight-seeing and cultural visits, primarily at weekends and in the evenings. All travel, food and accommodation costs and some of the sight-seeing/cultural visits are covered through the Premium Produce Project funded by Leonardo, Lifelong Learning Programme.
If you are interested in taking part in either of these study tours please contact Liz Wilcox, WNSC Enterprise and Development Department, for more information on 01939 262154 or email l.wilcox@wnsc.ac.uk.
