Taking Responsibility - Local Personal Development Center in FishHawk Helps Kids, Teens & Adults to Develop Responsibility in November of 2014
November 2014 is Responsibility Month as part of FishHawk martial arts studio, Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Center’s Powerful Words Character Development program.

November 2014 is Responsibility Month as part of Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Center’s Powerful Words Character Development program. All students will be studying, developing and experiencing powerful life lessons focusing on understanding the value and benefit of being the kind of person who does what is required, needed or expected of them. In addition to all of the physical skills that they'll be working on this month, students will be discussing and practicing the following concepts both in and out of class:
Responsibility defined: How can I be a R.A.D. family member and student?
Responsible person: Borrowing, returning, being on time & keeping promises.
Showing accountability: Owning up, choices and consequences.
Responsible leader: Going above & beyond and being a good example.
“Responsible people get things done. They are Reliable, Accountable, and Dependable (R.A.D.). We all want our children to be the kind of people who exercise responsible habits, initiate responsible behavior (even when nobody is looking) and demonstrate responsible choices. When we teach children to show responsibility, we are setting the foundation for a responsible lifestyle throughout their childhood and adulthood,” says Dr. Robyn Silverman, Sidekicks child & adolescent expert, and creator of the Powerful Words Character Development system used at the facility.
