Nicole Shannon, SPHR, Recognized as Texas Volunteer Leader of the Year  at The HRSouthwest Conference
Dallas, TX, November 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Nicole Shannon, SPHR, CLM, was named the 2014 Texas Volunteer Leader of the Year during the closing general session at The HRSouthwest Conference (“HRSWC”), held Oct. 5 – 8 in Fort Worth, Texas. The award recognizes those individuals whose volunteer efforts and impact are exemplary in serving the human resources community in Texas. Shannon was selected from a pool of highly deserving candidates nominated within Texas SHRM, an organization comprised of 18,000 members, 34 affiliate Society for Human Resource Management (“SHRM”) chapters and 32 student SHRM chapters throughout the state.

Shannon has been an active member and volunteer with the Panhandle Human Resources Association since 1999, including serving as 2001 president. Since 2002, she has been involved with Texas SHRM as both district director and state director, currently holding the position of immediate past state director. In her role, Shannon remains engaged by providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to HR professionals throughout the state.

Shannon works as a legal administrator for Brown & Fortunato, P.C. in Amarillo, Texas.
