About John D. Murray III
Mr. Murray III has over 32 years experience in the energy field. He is currently an Engineer at the Pidcock Company, which is an engineering firm that provides civil engineering, land planning, architecture and surveying services in Northeast Pennsylvania. Mr. Murray represents local municipal authorities and townships ensuring new underground facilities, road and building construction companies comply with approved design and local and state codes. He is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers. He was born on April 21, 1944 in Corning, New York and obtained a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. Mr. Murray served in the Armed Forces, 3rd Brigade of the 82nd Airborne Division. Previously, he spent 32 years as a Registered Professional Engineer with PPL Corporation of Allentown, Pennsylvania. He retired as a Senior Project Engineer in 2005. He managed many nuclear engineering projects during his career. He is especially proud of having served as a Project Manager of the Cooling Water Efficiency Enhancements at the Susquehanna Power Station and having served as a Construction Manager at a $17M Iron Pre-filter project at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Power Station in Oswego, New York. On June 3, 1967, he married Gale and they have three children. In his spare time he enjoys flying, physical fitness, golf and fishing.
