2014 L.L. Waters Scholarships Announced
Scholarships Awarded to Nicole Fliegelman of Penn State University and Andre Anderson of University of Wisconsin, Superior
Chicago, IL, November 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The L.L. Waters Scholarship winners were announced by Mr. David R. Yeley, a member of the AST&L Board of Directors and trustee of the L.L. Waters Scholarship Program at the annual meeting of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Nicole Fliegelman and Andre Anderson each received $2,000 national scholarships. The L.L. Waters Scholarship Program was established to encourage advanced undergraduate study and graduate study in the fields of transportation, logistics, or physical Distribution, for the purpose of preparing persons of high potential for professional careers in the field.
“We are so pleased to be able to recognize these talented students with the LL Waters Scholarship,” said Laurie Denham, President of AST&L. “They are the future of this profession and it’s an honor to include their names as distinguished scholarship winners.”
Nicole Fliegelman is a junior at Penn State University, majoring in supply chain and information systems. She is a committee member of the largest student-run philanthropic organization in the world and is active in the SAP group and Student Programming Association at Penn State. She has worked as an intern in logistics and analysis at NYS Collection Eyewear in New Jersey and in warehousing at Montaj in New York.
Andre Anderson is a senior at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. He is majoring in transportation and logistics management, economics, international business and Chinese. Anderson is president of the Stimulus Economics Club and an officer in the Transportation and Logistics Management Club. He participated in the World Class Internship Program at CH Robinson’s Asia Corporate in Hong Kong.
Submissions for the 2015 L.L. Waters Scholarship will be accepted beginning in August 2015.

The L.L. Waters Scholarship Program was established to encourage advanced undergraduate study and graduate study in the field of Transportation/Logistics/Physical Distribution, for the purpose of preparing persons of high potential for professional careers in the field.
