PyxPay to Adopt Apple Touch ID to Increase Transaction Security
New York, NY, November 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- PyxPay is to enhance its existing merchant and account holder security features by employing fingerprint recognition through the Apple Touch ID. This technology will be implemented across all Pyxpay system modules to benefit its clients using Apple devices with Touch ID.
Apple Touch ID is an advanced hardware and software technology found on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. The Touch ID allows the device owners to register their fingerprints onto their devices, which will be recognised as a passcode. According to Apple, the Touch ID intelligently analyses registered fingerprint data with remarkable detail and precision – mapping out unique details in every physical form including those that are not visible to the human eyes. The Touch ID also incrementally adds new sections of the fingerprints to the enrolled fingerprint data to strengthen matching accuracy over time.
In terms of Touch IDs current use in payment validation, Apple allows its users to opt for the Touch ID instead of entering the Apple ID password to buy content from the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. The fingerprint is scanned for every purchase made – users are given five attempts before Apple ID password verification is needed. This similar procedure will be followed in authorising transactions using PyxPay.
“The Touch ID technology from Apple will greatly enhance the protection capacity for our users very significantly. This concept is simple and smart. It is simple because integration is straightforward, as the hardware and software is built-in in the device. It is smart because it uses the most unique and unchanging security ID of an individual, the fingerprint,” says Maner Puyawan, CEO of PyxPay. “We are currently in the development stage and we hope to conclude our user tests before the end of the year.”
By the time of implementation in 2015, PyxPay Merchants will have been able to authorize funds loading, activation, voiding and bills acceptance functions through the fingerprints of merchant’s key assigned personnel. PyxPay account holders, on the other hand, will have been able to use this extra layer of security before making purchases, account transfers, top-ups and bills payment, literally with the tip of their fingers.
