The Center for Exceptional Human Experiences this week released a 189 page (1st Edition) Classification and Statistical Manual of Extrasensory Experiences (CSM-EE). The CSM-EE is reported to be a classification of extrasensory experiences (i.e. telepathy, clairvoyance, mediumship, precognition, synchronistic events, etc.) with associated criteria designed to facilitate more reliable classification.

Charleston, SC, November 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Center for Exceptional Human Experiences this week released a 189 page (1st Edition) Classification and Statistical Manual of Extrasensory Experiences (CSM-EE). The CSM-EE is reported to be a classification of extrasensory experiences (i.e. telepathy, clairvoyance, mediumship, precognition, synchronistic events, etc.) with associated criteria designed to facilitate more reliable classification. In the manual, the author invites comment from the public and professionals who utilize the manual for clinical, educational, and research purposes.

The author, Theresa M. Kelly, MsD., is President and Professor of Scientific Parapsychology at the University of Alternative Studies (UAS), and the author of 4 other educational books and numerous papers on the subject of scientific parapsychology. She is also a process-orientated (qualitative) psychical researcher focusing on the phenomenology and classification of spontaneous cases resulting from chronic stress and crisis situations.

“I developed the CSM-EE in hopes of one day becoming a standard reference, through future expert review, public commentary, and independent peer review; for clinicians, educators, and researchers challenged with treating, teaching, studying, or investigating into the nature of exceptional experiences.”

The CSM-EE is reported to assist in identifying like experiences that are similar in phenomenology, but otherwise widely differ in narrative due to culture, language, and religious/spiritual belief. Whereby, the CSM-EE can assist in accurate classification and is therefore a valuable resource for clinicians and students, and a valuable reference for researchers, dealing with extrasensory experiences in a wide diversity of context.

The criteria and associated phenomenological features and specifiers are reported to serve in part as a textbook for students who require a well-structured method to understand and classify extrasensory experiences as well as for experienced professionals encountering these experiences for the first time.

An extensive higher-education textbook (expected to be around 600+ pages) and an online Second-Master Degree Program (UAS) on the subjects of Clinical Parapsychology focusing on Extrasensory Experiences are both reported to be in the works and are expected to be released and launched in early 2015. The online Second-Master Degree Program launch will be accompanied by a similar online Advanced Certification Program, both of which will include training in the use of the CSM-EE.

“The need for a categorical classification system of extrasensory experiences has been clear throughout the history of the field of parapsychology. However, categorical approaches may fall short in reliability and stability due to briefly specified phenomenological features and perhaps confusion in applying criteria on episodic versus lifetime experiences.”

Due to the manuals categorical limitations, the author will be proposing a multi-dimensional classification system in the textbook to be released in early 2015. The multi-dimensional classification system is reported to be a non-prejudice approach to classifying extrasensory experiences that allows a clinician to:

1. Classify experiences that are subject to associational differences,
2. Avoid unjustified labeling and diagnosis,
3. Conduct quantitative analyses,
4. Categorize unverified experiences.

And finally, the CSM-EE systematically describes each extrasensory experience type under the following headings: Phenomenological Features; Subtypes and/or Specifiers; Associated Research and Laboratory Findings; Associated Mental Health Findings; Associated Medical Condition Findings; Specific Culture, Age, and Gender Features; Development and Course; Familial Pattern; and Differential Classification.

A complimentary digital copy of the CSM-EE can be obtained through the Center for Exceptional Human Experiences website: (http://qpsychics.com/center). Additionally, the CSM-EE is available on Amazon Kindle and a paperback version of the manual is also available through the Center for Exceptional Human Experiences website.
