Paint By Numbers: "Art for All” Energizing Downtown West Palm Beach

The public is invited to come paint eight 16'x8' murals in West Palm Beach’s Arts & Entertainment District. Eight local artists have sketched out their interpretation of West Palm Beach on large canvas for the community to come together and paint.

West Palm Beach, FL, November 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Caron Bowman will be one of the participating artists in the Paint by Numbers mural project, an event held in the newly minted West Palm Beach Arts & Entertainment District. This project brings together the community to help paint eight 16ft x8ft moveable murals. Often artwork is viewed in an environment that is “look but don’t touch“, but with the “Paint by Number” project not only can you touch, but you can help in the production of a piece of fine art. The public is invited to come out and help paint 8 portable murals in the Downtown West Palm Beach.

When: Sat., Nov. 15th 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: 400 Block of Clematis St.

Inspired by West Palm Beach’s Arts & Entertainment District offerings, Caron synergized elements of dance, music, and theater into her mural. According to Caron “The experience of art is always active, and in a fundamental sense should be interactive. Theatrical and staged elements have been a key feature of visual art throughout the 20th century.” Caron art work has been exhibited at the Marc Chagall Museum, Dusable Museum, Harlem Fine Arts Show, Continuum Art Fair and ARCO Madrid Art Fair. Her artwork is a combination of surrealism, pop, soflo superflat, and graffiti. Moreover, her artwork is about intensity of color, curved lines, and daring patterns unified into one language. She said of her work: “My personal quest is to create art with a spirit, transforming two dimensional materials into spiritual substance. My goal is to continue to use the vocabulary of color in order to speak visually in different languages creating a relationship between the unconscious and conscious mind via abstraction and symbolism.”

Caron said “The creation of the 'Arts & Entertainment District' shows the deep commitment the City of West Palm Beach has for the arts and I am honored to be part of their efforts. With public art projects such as Paint by Numbers, West Palm Beach is well on it way to becoming an arts destination of choice.”
