Industry Water Concerns Addressed by TraceGains
Westminster, CO, November 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Water challenges could restrict business growth. More than four-fifths of food and consumer goods companies say that water poses a fundamental risk to their business, according to a new report from CDP. The TraceGains’ newsletter, Industry Insider, reported that many companies in the food and consumer sector were concerned about water availability and quality.
The newsletter also addressed recycling opportunities for food manufacturers. Diversion is one of the keys to a successful recycling program; every bit of weight companies subtract from trash saves money on solid waste hauling bill. Since food manufacturers generate large quantities of valuable recyclables, a well optimized program can create a significant revenue stream.
The November 7th issue reported on the first long-term study on calorie labeling shows strategy effective in reducing weight gain by 50%. Recent guidance from the United States’ Affordable Care Act and the United Kingdom’s Responsibility Deal encourage calorie labeling in chain restaurants, yet there have been mixed results as to the effects of calorie labeling on consumers’ meal choices and weight status.
