WCT BC Joins Partners in Celebration of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Vancouver

Vancouver, Canada, November 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- As part of Global Entrepreneurship week, Canadian Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) the national association dedicated to advancing women in communications and tech, will take part in a worldwide celebration of female entrepreneurs.

WCT BC and partners, BCTIA, Futurpreneur and ACETECH will come together on November 19th, 2014 to celebrate Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED), a new initiative from Global Entrepreneurship Week (GWE) dedicated to honouring, supporting and empowering the women who are making significant contributions to the global economy.

Opening remarks will be provided by Judy Brooks, serial female entrepreneur and Co-Founder of Blo Blow Dry Bar. The evening will be an opportunity to meet and network with exceptional female entrepreneurs making a mark in Vancouver, BC and beyond.

“Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is an opportunity for us to celebrate the entrepreneurial accomplishments of Canadian women, but it's also a reminder that women continue to face employment barriers and are an untapped economic potential in Canada,” said Wendy Turnbull, Chair, WCT BC. “With organizations like WCT, who have a long standing commitment to supporting and advancing women, I’m confident we’ll continue to bridge gender gaps and encourage more women to pursue opportunities in business, entrepreneurship, and tech. I hope women from all sectors and industries will join us on Nov.19th in support of local female entrepreneurs.”

WED will take place from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the Steamworks Uber Lounge located at 375 Water Street, Vancouver BC. Tickets start at $30. Appetizers will be included with the cost of the ticket. For more information about the event, please visit: https://wedvancouver.eventbrite.ca
