Opening Reception Birthday Brunch Party

Philadelphia, PA, November 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- A Square Deal presents one size fits all original artwork in a variety of mediums and genres. ASD is very happy to be opening their seventh exhibition at FLEUR, a Best of Philly premiere florist. Earlier this year Fleur hosted a very successful show at their Manayunk location. Local artists such as Julia Blaukopf, Joe Brenman and Marybeth Chew will be amongst some 72 artists on display at Fleur located at 1216 Locust Street in Center City Philadelphia (between 12th & 13th Streets). They are also excited to announce that this exhibit includes work by Brazilian artist Maria Beatriz Ribas, and Patrick Murphy from Ireland.

The goal of ASD is not to compete with local galleries, but rather to expand the interest of art to a broader audience. ASD is about placing small work (20x20cm squares) in markets that artists may not be able to normally reach. They accomplish this by keeping the work and the price small. And though the size and prices are small, the variety of subject matter, medium, and talent are big.

A Square Deal participating venues donate a portion of sales made during each of ASD shows to a charity of the venues choice. To date, they have given gifts to a civic association; a local community arts group; a small respite center serving HIV/AIDS affected families, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Art work sold at Fleur during the exhibit from November 1 2007 through January 31 2008 will benefit St. Mary's Family Respite Center, an agency serving HIV/AIDS effected families. Come join them between 11:30am and 2:00pm on Sunday November 11 for a Brunch and Birthday celebration for Chai Kanchanahoti, owner of Fleur, and also meet some of the participating artists.
